Dom Ruinart

Dom Ruinart Rosé 2009

€230

From the Maker:

Grapes that have reached a beautiful maturity were picked during the summer of 2009. Despite the extreme summer drought, the climate remains temperate and the grapes ripen in ideal conditions, free from disease. This is what allows the vintage to retain notes of intense freshness.

Entirely composed of Grands Crus, 85% of Chardonnay and 15% of Pinot Noire Red Wine, the wine will wait 11 years in the depths of the chalk cellars of Maison Ruinart, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The colour is a soft pink, highlighted by raspberry hues.

The first aromas evoke a mixture of warm and comforting spices mixed with the freshness of citrus fruits: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, blood orange & kumquat...
The second nose is more floral, accentuated by notes of violet and peony. Finally, the bouquet is completed by a salted note of oyster shell.

The mouthfeel is remarkable: the attack is enveloping and silky with notes of tart red fruits (pomegranate, redcurrant), the mid-palate is fluid and salty and the finish is firm and intense, prolonged by a delicate bitterness and a fine effervescence.

About the Maker:

Founded in 1729, Ruinart is the first established champagne house in the world, born from the ambition of Dom Ruinart’s true enlightened mind. His vision made him perceive before anyone else the potential of sparkling wines from the Champagne region. Each of Ruinart’s cuvées bears the distinctive signature of Chardonnay, the House’s emblematic grape variety. Elegance, refinement, purity, light and distinctive taste make Ruinart a timeless and modern icon.

Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is the emblem of the House, and it is the perfect expression of the Ruinart taste. It is comprised of 100% Chardonnay grapes grown primarily with Premiers Crus from the Côte de Blancs and Montagne de Reims terroirs, both prized for their aromatic finesse.
