Grande Charte

Grande Charte GC-5 Collection 2007

Grande Charte is the House of fine Champagne Wines of the 21st Century, crafting new legendary wines made from organic and biodynamic cultures. The wines are located in Marne and Aube in the Champagne vineyard. The terroirs reflect the optimal potential of each grape, such as clay-limestone terroir of Aube for Pinot-Noir, and clay from the right bank of the Marne Valley for the Meunier. With moderate sunshine, the growth and development of the vines are limited and the ripening of the grapes adapted to the freshness and finesse sought in Champagne wines. After a careful and secret preparation during a decade, Grande Charte Champagne House offers five cuvées. The 2007 VINTAGE is granted the outstanding rate of 97pts by world renown wine critics. The bottles of each individual allocation are sent directly from the domain, and are allowed thanks to the vetting of an existing Grande Charte client acting as a sponsor. founders can offer the privilege of their personal sponsorship to a limited number of clients, upon request.

Flavour On the one hand, the wine shows a developed spectrum of grated and dried honey apple, alongside dried lemon peel and a touch of cocoa. Extended lees contact provides a hint of sulphide, plus a grassy freshness that lends a rare plurality to the aroma as a whole. Mousse is understated, fine and soft. The matured flavour contains lingering high acidity carrying a touch of umami, tightening to a mineral, chalky and pristine finish. A truly bone dry style with sublime balance. Kenny Ohashi MW
